16 slices American style cheese (that’s the fully processed, naughty kind)
6 Large Dill Pickles/Gherkins (sliced)
1/4 Onion (finely diced)
1/2 Iceberg Lettuce (thinly sliced)
For the Burger Sauce:
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
2 Tbsp Tomato Sauce
2 tsp Mild Mustard
2 Tbsp Dill Pickle/Gherkin Juice
Instructions
Method:
Mix the burger sauce ingredients together in a bowl.
Place the mince, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix well.
Place a handful of the seasoned mince onto each tortilla and, using your hand, press the mince across the tortilla to form an even layer.
Place a nonstick pan on high heat.
Fry the burger tacos mince-side down, and ‘smash’ or press them down using a small pot or pan to ensure the burgers are caramelised and crisp on the edges.
Once browned, flip them over, layer on 2 slices of cheese and continue to fry until the underside of the tortilla is crisp.
Repeat with the remaining burger tacos.
To serve: drizzle with burger sauce, and sprinkle over onion, pickles and lettuce.
