PAN-FRIED DENVER STEAK IN BURNT SAGE BUTTER
Ingredients
- What you'll need:
- 1 Chalmar Denver Steak
- Salt and Pepper
- 4 Tbsp Butter (at room temperature)
- 15 Sage Leaves (hard stalks removed)
Instructions
- Method:
- Bring the steak to room temperature and season with salt and pepper.
- Place a non-stick pan on high heat.
- When it’s almost smoking hot, add the steak and fry for 2 minutes on each side. (This is for medium-rare)
- Now turn the heat down and add knobs of butter to the pan and on top of the steak, then add the sage leaves to the pan.
- Once the butter has melted, baste the steak in the butter for 1 minute, swirling the pan as you go. Turn the steak and do the same on the other side.
- Set the steak aside to rest and continue fry the sage leaves in the butter until just crisped.
- Turn off the heat and leave to cool slightly.
- Slice and serve coated in the burnt sage butter.
